Kitsap Mall is essentially the only real mall in Kitsap County and is responsible for the shift of the retail core of Kitsap from Bremerton to Silverdale after the mall opened in August of 1985. Since then, the mall has more than tripled in size with JC Penney, Hollister Co., Sears, Barnes and Noble, Cost Plus World Market, Kohl's and Macy's being the most significant of the more than 100 mall retailers.

Surrounding Kitsap Mall are various restaurants that serve a wide range of cuisines, including Italian, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Filipino and Mongolian food, as well as seafood and barbecue more common to American cuisine. There are also food chains like Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Appleby's branches in the area.
